Logan Paul Reveals What Really Happened When He “Saved” Rey Mysterio At Crown Jewel

In a recent revelation, Logan Paul addressed the heart-stopping moment during his match against Rey Mysterio at WWE Crown Jewel, where the 48-year-old luchador narrowly escaped a potentially catastrophic Springboard Moonsault.

While the incident garnered positive headlines hailing Paul as a hero, the YouTube sensation candidly admitted his role in the near-disaster.

“Look, I’m going to come clean because I’ve seen all these positive headlines. ‘Logan saves Rey Mysterio.’ The Mexican community is going crazy. They’re praising me, saying I’m some sort of [hero]. And so I’m like, ‘Dang, I’m being recognized for doing something cool? I’ll take it,'” Paul shared on his Impaulsive podcast.

However, upon reviewing the clip, he acknowledged the shared responsibility for the mishap.

“I think I was too far back for the move, and I think he didn’t clear enough ground for the move. That’s what happened. Like, I was too far back, and he didn’t clear enough ground. We both, I think, made a mistake. I had to catch him, I had to catch him. And I wasn’t going to not catch him,” Paul explained, emphasizing his commitment to ensuring Mysterio’s safety.

Paul, who captured the United States Championship in the match, downplayed his heroic image, stating, “So like, truthfully, while I like the headlines and I like being gassed up like this, I was just doing my job. But I’ll take it. I’ll take the praise.”

The incident, which could have resulted in a broken neck for Mysterio, adds an unexpected layer to their Crown Jewel encounter.

With Logan Paul’s newfound championship and Mysterio’s absence from WWE TV due to a beatdown by Santos Escobar, the aftermath of their match continues to resonate within the wrestling community.
