WWE RAW Preview: Possible plans for Lesnar vs. Lashley, Top Champion to turn heel soon?

Welcome to the first edition of RAW Preview of 2022. The first episode of RAW this year will feature the fallout of the Day 1 pay-per-view, one that ended with an unexpected title change.

Along with it, we will see the build-up to the Royal Rumble 2022 begin. That will kickstart the road to WrestleMania 38 at Arlington. Here is what you need to look forward to in a highly-anticipated episode of WWE RAW.

#5. What's next for Brock Lesnar on RAW after his WWE title win?

Brock Lesnar is technically not a RAW superstar, but he holds the most prestigious prize of the brand, and the entire industry, for that matter. As you may know by now, Lesnar's scheduled Universal title match at Day 1 was canceled after Roman Reigns tested positive for COVID-19.

As a result, Lesnar was added to the WWE title match a few hours before Day 1, making it a Fatal-Five-Way. The match didn't last long, and it shouldn't come as a surprise that Lesnar dethroned yet another New Day member.

It was an intense bout, and Lesnar's WWE title win now changes the entire course of the road to WrestleMania 38. There was one man who got the better of Lesnar in the match but couldn't pick up the win: Bobby Lashley.

The two men had a brief stare across each other, teasing the dream match that everyone wants to see. It's going to be interesting to see what the fallout of the WWE title match is, especially with Big E looming around as well.

The issue Big E faces is that he was the one who took the fall, and in an age where immediate rematches aren't as popular anymore, it's hard to make a case for him to challenge for the WWE title right after Day 1.

However, Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins didn't seem to do enough to make a case for a title shot either. While fans might want the Bobby Lashley vs. Brock Lesnar match to happen at WrestleMania, WWE could begin building up the feud as soon as tonight on RAW. The Royal Rumble could be the destination for the two men to meet, although many would argue that WrestleMania would be the best stage for it to happen.

#4. What lies ahead for Damian Priest on RAW?

Damian Priest's incredible 2021 on RAW ended last week with a defeat to Dolph Ziggler. The US title was defended, and Damian Priest lost due to disqualification. But it shouldn't take away all that he has achieved on RAW last year.

As a result of the disqualification, his feud with The Dirty Dawgs will likely continue. Since late October 2021, Priest has had a change in theme song and character. We've seen a darker side of him, one that isn't fully a babyface, but not a heel either.

The "unhinged" version of Priest is ultimately what led to the DQ loss, and it seems to be foreshadowing something bigger. Priest will be expected to defeat Ziggler and finish his feud with the former RAW Tag Team Champions.

But what lies ahead beyond that? A heel turn seems to be foreshadowed with his change in character, and that could be the new direction for Damian Priest on RAW in 2022. Will he be able to replicate the success of 2021?

#3. RK-Bro to seek new RAW Tag Team title contenders?

RK-Bro's incredible 2021 continued onto 2022 as they kickstarted the year by retaining the RAW Tag Team titles. At Day 1, they were accompanied by Migos, who were at ringside to watch RK-Bro decisively defeat The Street Profits.

The Street Profits won the RK-Bronament to become the #1 contender for the RAW Tag Team titles. They couldn't help but show respect to the reigning champions after they failed to capture the titles.

RK-Bro, primarily Randy Orton, was feuding with The Alpha Academy on RAW as 2021 closed. Last week, Orton did what many felt he couldn't as he hit the RKO on Otis to seemingly end their feud with The Alpha Academy.

There's no doubt that Randy Orton and Riddle have been the best tag team of 2021 in WWE, and they will be looking for new challenges as 2021 begins. Which team will earn the #1 contendership following The Street Profits' loss at Day 1? Will RK-Bro's momentum continue?

#2. The build to the 2022 Royal Rumble begins on RAW

The first RAW of 2022 will also see the build to the Royal Rumble 2022 begin. Hopefully, it isn't like Survivor Series where WWE spent a few weeks not building to the pay-per-view.

The Royal Rumble will kickstart the most exciting period of the calendar year as the men and women will look to win the 30-person Battle Royal and secure their spot in the main event of WrestleMania.

Some have speculated that RAW's Bobby Lashley could be one of the favorites to win the Men's Royal Rumble match, but if WWE decides to kickstart the Brock Lesnar feud immediately, he won't be participating.

The Men's and Women's 2021 Royal Rumble winners Edge and Bianca Belair also happen to be on RAW, and their entry could be certain as well. Edge defeated The Miz, and it makes little sense to continue that feud. Bianca Belair, on the other hand, has kept her momentum but has also been separated from Becky Lynch and the RAW Women's Championship.

Hopefully, we will start to see superstars on RAW declare their entry to the respective Royal Rumble matches. Johnny Knoxville was the first person to announce his entry.

#1. Who is next in line for Becky Lynch's RAW Women's title?
