6 current superstars who had never wrestled before WWE

WWE's Performance Center has played a huge role in creating the next generation of professional wrestlers. Whilst there has been a lot of bad press surrounding the Performance Center in recent years with the Bill DeMott saga, there is also a lot of good that the facilities have been able to achieve.

Many current and former WWE Superstars are complete products of WWE's performance center and were solely trained by WWE. These stars had never stepped foot in a wrestling ring before the company took a gamble.

Interestingly, many of these stars have gone on to become some of the biggest wrestlers in the company over the past decade, which proves that WWE has a bright future ahead of them if they focus on creating their own stars.

#6. Current WWE SmackDown Superstar Baron Corbin

Baron Corbin was pushing for a career in the NFL whilst growing up, but after being released by The Cardinals in 2011, he embarked on a WWE career instead.

Corbin was signed by the company in August 2012 and was incredibly able to make his live event debut just two months later in October.

It wasn't until two years later that Corbin was able to make his debut on WWE TV as a babyface at NXT Takeover Fatal Four-way. Over the past seven years, Corbin has climbed up through the ranks in WWE and even captured the Money in the Bank contract.

Corbin has also gone through several name changes in recent years, from Baron Corbin to King Corbin and now Happy Corbin.

#5. WWE RAW Superstar Liv Morgan

Liv Morgan has noted throughout her feud with Becky Lynch that she was a fan of WWE growing up. The former NXT Superstar was spotted whilst working out in a gym in Wyckoff, New Jersey in 2014.

Ahead of signing with WWE, Morgan had only competed in backyard matches against her siblings and had no professional training since she went on to work as a professional cheerleader.

Morgan was signed by WWE in October 2014 and made her debut exactly a year later under the ring name "Marley."

Morgan is currently part of the RAW Women's Championship picture and recently lost to Becky Lynch at WWE Day 1.

#4. Former WWE SmackDown Women's Champion Carmella

Carmella is a second-generation WWE Superstar after her father Paul Van Dale wrestled for WWE as a jobber throughout the 1990s.

The former Women's Champion initially looked to start her career in WWE in 2010 when she applied for Tough Enough, but later withdrew her application when she was accepted as a Laker Girl.

Three years later, Carmella was signed by the company and made her debut the following year in a segment with Enzo Amore and Big Cass. Whilst working as a manager for the duo, Carmella was able to continue her training and later slot into the Women's Division.

The former NXT Superstar was then promoted to the main roster in 2016 and went on to become the first-ever Miss Money in the Bank. Carmella is now a former SmackDown Women's Champion and was even used as one of the main cast members on Total Divas for several years.

Carmella is currently one-half of the Women's Tag Team Champions alongside Queen Zelina on Monday Night RAW.

#3. Current WWE Superstar Bianca Belair

Bianca Belair has seemingly taken to wrestling like a duck to water since the former Women's Champion had no prior training before being signed by WWE in 2016.

The EST of WWE had to go through two WWE tryouts before she was signed to the company after being recommended by WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry.

Just months later Belair made her debut on the NXT brand as "Binky Blair" before going on to make her in-ring debut in September.

Belair later competed in the Mae Young Classic in 2017 before going on to establish an undefeated streak in NXT. The former Champion was then promoted to WWE's main roster as part of WrestleMania 36 and has since competed on both main roster brands.

Belair was able to become one of only a handful of women who have main evented WrestleMania last year and alongside Sasha Banks was part of the first ever women's singles main event.

Belair is currently part of the RAW Women's Championship picture alongside Liv Morgan and Becky Lynch.

#2. Current WWE Superstar Alexa Bliss

Alexa Bliss was one of the fastest-rising female wrestlers in WWE after her promotion to the main roster in 2016.

After years of being seen as the manager of Blake and Murphy in NXT, Bliss was finally able to show what she was capable of on her own and went on to lift the Women's Championship on RAW and SmackDown on several occasions.

Like many other female wrestlers in the company at present, Bliss is a complete product of WWE's Performance Center after signing for WWE in May 2013.

Bliss sent in a tape to the company after they opened up their application process online and was then accepted. Bliss made her in-ring debut with a fairy gimmick in May 2014, just a year after signing with the company.

She was later aligned with Blake and Murphy and was turned heel, before challenging Bayley for the NXT Women's Championship.

Bliss was recently written off WWE TV in order to undergo sinus surgery but it was announced that she will make her return next week on RAW.

#1. Current WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns

It's hard to imagine that there was ever a time when Roman Reigns wasn't seen as the face of WWE. The Universal Champion has dominated SmackDown for more than a year now and has main evented a number of WrestleMania events.

Reigns is a member of the famous Anoa'i family but whilst wrestling is in his blood, the former Champion was looking to pursue a career in football before his issues with Leukemia signaled the end of his career.

Reigns later joined the family business in 2010 when he signed for WWE and was sent to their developmental division. The Tribal Chief then spent two years in developmental where he was known as "Leakee."

Reigns later appeared on NXT and then made a splash on the main roster as a member of The Shield. The current Universal Champion has since been pushed as the biggest star in the company and is currently embroiled in a feud with Brock Lesnar which could lead the two men to another WrestleMania showdown.
