WWE SmackDown - 5 Possible surprises - Brock Lesnar accidentally attacks a former WWE Champion, Triple threat confirmed at Day 1

WWE SmackDown this week is pretty much guaranteed to be explosive. Brock Lesnar has gone babyface without losing the essential characteristics that make him Brock Lesnar, that quintessential mean streak. Roman Reigns is back to claim his metaphorical yard. Other superstars are, well, doing their thing too.

But, even if the chess pieces are neatly placed on the board, they need to be played in the right manner. This is why these WWE SmackDown surprises may be just what the doctor ordered. If they do take place during the show, a 7.5/10 affair may become a 9/10 episode!

With that said, here are five fantasy scenarios for the blue brand this week, that could potentially elevate things to the next level. Be sure to leave a comment and let us know your thoughts and views.

Also, who are you rooting for at Day 1? Will you be supporting Roman Reigns or Brock Lesnar? Let us know in the section below.

#5 Brock Lesnar tries to attack WWE SmackDown official Adam Pearce and accidentally hits Drew McIntyre instead

Imagine the sight of Adam Pearce stepping into the ring to cut a promo on WWE SmackDown. But lo and behold, Drew McIntyre steps out from the crowd with a sword to cause destruction. Meanwhile, Brock Lesnar walks up the rank to destroy the WWE official as well.

But when McIntyre unleashes a claymore, maybe Pearce slithers away in such a manner that he hits Lesnar. This adds a new dimension to the current Universal Championship picture. A very interesting scenario has been outlined in the next slide as well.

There is unfinished business between these two big men. Brock Lesnar and Drew McIntyre already have a bone to pick with each other from the time that the latter defeated the former at WrestleMania.

#4 A massive tag team match is made official

WWE SmackDown saw a big debut last week in Xia Li. Former head WWE writer Vince Russo and the living legend himself, Diamond Dallas Page, weighed in on both in our brand new series- The Bro Show.

Could Li and Naomi align to take on Shayna Baszler and Sonya Deville on this week's show? It would be a great showcase spot for Xia Li, where she can show off her Mortal Combat-inspired entrance and gear, as well as her incredible pro wrestling prowess.

#3 A WWE SmackDown star is added to the Day 1 Universal Championship match

Let's imagine that the scenario that is mentioned as the fifth WWE SmackDown surprise plays out. It could lead to a very interesting scenario indeed where Drew McIntyre is added to the Universal Championship match at the Day 1 pay-per-view.

Yes, Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns is a big deal for sure, but it's a contest we've already seen time and time again. Adding this X-factor lends it a new flavor.

#2 Toni Storm adds a special stipulation for a Day 1 match

The WWE SmackDown Women's Championship match was on the line last week. Charlotte Flair faced newcomer Toni Storm in what should have been a very competitive affair.

But Flair flouted the rules and as a result, she got disqualified. When the two women meet invariably at Day 1, the match is likely to be a No DQ affair. Could Storm challenge The Queen to such a match on the blue brand this week?

#1 Sami Zayn attacks a WWE SmackDown star by faking an injury

The most disappointing thing when it comes to WWE SmackDown has to be the booking of the Intercontinental Championship. Sami Zayn could confront Shinsuke Nakamura and Rick Boogs in a wheelchair, and when they're rocking out, he could attack them both.

Hey, Boogs' not-so-pricy Epiphone guitar can definitely be used to cause damage and destruction galore on WWE SmackDown this week. For Zayn to feign an injury would be a nice twist and add drama to Nakamura's current booking.
