Brock Lesnar and 4 other current WWE Superstars who changed up their look in 2021

WWE Superstars portray characters on TV, and sometimes these characters need an update. Like with many TV programs, WWE is forced to freshen up some of their characters several times a year in order to keep a focus on uncertain stars.

Over the past 12 months, many current WWE Superstars have changed up their looks and their gimmicks on both RAW and SmackDown. Some stars have done this in order to make it clear that they have turned face or heel, whilst others have been forced to make changes to maintain their place on the roster.

It's been a tough year for many stars given the mass releases, but the following list of stars were able to find a unique way to stay ahead of the game.

#5. Current WWE Superstar Nikki Cross became Nikki A.S.H.

Nikki Cross started the year as a mid-card talent on Monday Night RAW but was able to debut an impressive new character that gave her the push she deserved.

Back in June, Nikki announced on RAW that she was no longer Nikki Cross but was instead Nikki A.S.H., which stood for Almost a Superhero. This new character was enough to catapult Nikki to the top of the division when she was the shock victor in the Women's Money in the Bank ladder match.

The following night on RAW, A.S.H. took advantage of the fact that she had a Women's Championship match and cashed in her contract on Charlotte Flair to become a singles champion in WWE for the first time.

Whilst her reign as champion was short-lived, it gave Nikki's career the boost it needed and she has since been aligned with Rhea Ripley on RAW. The duo went on to capture the women's tag team championships. They would eventually lose the titles to Carmella and Queen Zelina.

With the annual Women's Royal Rumble match around the corner, it will be interesting to see if WWE allows Nikki A.S.H. to use her superhero powers in the 30-woman match to help her come out on top.

#4. Current WWE RAW Women's Champion Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch made her return to WWE after more than a year on the sidelines at SummerSlam. The Man was able to defeat Bianca Belair to become Women's Champion in 26 seconds at The Biggest Party of the Summer, before debuting her new heel character.

As a heel, Lynch has completely changed her look and the way she dresses in order to make it clear that she is better than everyone else. Big Time Becks has become something of a style icon in the company since her return and has made a point of changing her hair on a regular basis as well.

Before she took a break from WWE in May 2020, Lynch was a face and was over with the crowd. Since her return, she has been able to turn this on its head and her new look was a major part of it.

The Man has worked hard to become one of the most hated women in the company and has been able to hold the women's championship on her shoulder the entire time.

#3. Current WWE Superstar Paige

Paige is a former Divas Champion and authority figure in WWE but hasn't been seen on-screen for more than a year.

The British superstar retired from active competition in the company back in 2018 before going on to become the General Manager of SmackDown. Paige was later relieved of her duties when Shane McMahon decided to remove General Managers from the company.

The Anti-Diva has since managed the Kabuki Warriors before the duo turned their backs on her. She has even been seen as the authority in the women's division on SmackDown.

Paige was last seen on TV in March of 2020 when she was part of the Sasha Banks and Bayley storyline on SmackDown.

Despite not appearing on WWE programming, Paige has remained active on social media and was able to unveil her new brunette look last week on Instagram.

Paige was known for being a Glampire in WWE and has always had black hair, but it appears the former champion could be gearing up for a big change in her life, since she has hinted that something is coming next month.

#2. Current WWE Superstar Mandy Rose

Mandy Rose has gone through one of the most dramatic WWE makeovers of the year since moving from the main roster to NXT.

She decided to mark the move with a new look and attitude since she went from being a face on RAW to a heel on the black and gold brand.

The Golden Goddess has since become the leader of Toxic Attraction and debuted her new brunette look in September. Throughout her career, Rose was known for her blonde hair, but she put this behind her when she opted to make the move back to developmental in the summer.

This new look has guided Rose to her first championship in WWE when she was able to beat Raquel Gonzalez with the help of her teammates to become NXT Women's Champion.

Alongside Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne, Mandy Rose has pushed NXT into a new era as NXT 2.0 and it can be argued that Toxic Attraction has become one of the best parts of the rebrand.

#1. Current WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar has been pushed as one of WWE's most dominant forces over the past decade and his return at SummerSlam was further proof of this.

Without Paul Heyman by his side for the first time in years, Lesnar was forced to make his return as a face with a completely new look. Lesnar has allowed his hair to grow and now has a beard following his hiatus from the company.

The former world champion has been able to play around with different looks on SmackDown in recent weeks as well, with his overall look being a hot topic on social media.

Lesnar was a heel when he left WWE in 2020 after losing his championship to Drew McIntyre. He was able to return with a fresh look as a face in order to combat Roman Reigns this year.

It could be argued that Lesnar is the only star who could pull a look like this off and still be able to be seen as a face by the WWE Universe.
