WWE SmackDown - 5 Possible surprises- Brock Lesnar teams up with a former opponent, John Cena's next opponent finally revealed

This week's edition of WWE SmackDown is not your traditional episode. It will be dubbed 'Super SmackDown' and will air live from the most famous arena in the world - Madison Square Garden.

With the buzz that the rival, All Elite Wrestling, has garnered in recent weeks, WWE will definitely stack SmackDown with surprises to counter the momentum of its competitor. Here are just some of the surprises that could potentially take place during the course of the broadcast.

As always, you are most welcome to chime in, share your thoughts and views, and suggest some surprises of your own!

#5 Brock Lesnar teams up with WWE SmackDown star Finn Balor

Finn Balor and Brock Lesnar had a great match when they last clashed. Now they will face a common foe in Roman Reigns, which means they may be forced to team up to overhaul the numbers. Finn Balor and Brock Lesnar working side by side will also solidify the latter as a babyface, something that needs to be spelled out in bold.

Finn Balor is scheduled to go one-on-one with Roman Reigns at Extreme Rules and we know we're getting a Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar match at some point down the line. We also know that if Brock Lesnar shows up at WWE SmackDown in MSG, The Usos will team up with Roman Reigns to take him down. Simply put, he needs a backup and he can get it from Finn Balor.

This special episode is a great chance for Finn Balor to showcase his 'Demon King' persona, something we haven't seen in a while. Imagine the sight of The Beast and The Demon cleaning house, sending The Bloodline scattering!

#4 Naomi challenges Sonya Deville to a match

Hey, if WWE SmackDown official Sonya Deville won't give Naomi a match against someone from the active roster, maybe the latter has to prove herself against Deville! Could Naomi challenge Sonya Deville to a match, allowing her to return to the active roster once again?

#3 Logan Paul confirms his very first match on WWE SmackDown

Logan Paul and Happy Corbin formed a sort of loose alliance on WWE SmackDown recently. Considering how much history Corbin has with Shinsuke Nakamura and Rick Boogs, it is possible that these two could team up for a tag team feud.

Logan Paul is a globally renowned superstar who will bring a lot of new eyes to the product if he steps into a wrestling ring on pay-per-view. Could the match, presumably for Extreme Rules, be announced on WWE SmackDown this week? If it works out, the company could consider putting the Tag Team Championships around Logan Paul and Happy Corbin for a spell, in an attempt to get some new fans.

#2 A WWE SmackDown star steps up to John Cena

Do you guys remember the WWE SmackDown contract signing segment between Finn Balor and Roman Reigns? They were scheduled to face each other at SummerSlam before Baron Corbin crashed the proceedings. John Cena then weaseled his way into the contract signing and faced Roman Reigns at SummerSlam.

Now that John Cena is scheduled to be at WWE SmackDown, it is all too likely that Finn Balor could challenge him for a showdown at some point down the road.

This is a feud that could elevate this always-on-the-verge-of-greatness WWE SmackDown star to the next level.

#1 Sami Zayn costs Edge his victory against Seth Rollins

Edge is still at the top of his game. Once the feud with Seth Rollins is done and dusted, he can still return for yet another run where he puts over another promising heel.

Sami Zayn would be perfect for this role considering how gifted the man is. Could he interfere in the Edge vs. Seth Rollins match, costing the veteran his big win? This protects Edge even if he comes up short this time and allows Rollins to move on to his next feud with a whole lot of momentum.
