Many couples have wrestled in WWE over the past few years. Some female superstars have been more successful than their husbands/partners.
Today, WWE has many couples on its roster, like Becky Lynch & Seth Rollins, Franky Monet & John Morrison, and Bianca Belair & Montez Ford. Several of these couples have had much success. However, some superstars have more achievements than their real-life partners.
John Morrison, for example, is a more successful WWE Superstar than his wife Franky Monet, who had just joined the company a few months ago. Although Monet has held championships outside of WWE, her husband has won much more gold. The 41-year-old is a former ECW, Intercontinental, and Tag Team Champion. He also won over 20 championships outside of WWE.
There are also other examples where the female superstars were more successful in-ring competitors than their husbands/partners. Sometimes it was due to having more talent. Other times, injuries held the male superstars back.
Here are five WWE female superstars who have had more in-ring success than their husbands/partners.
#5. WWE RAW Women's Champion Nikki A.S.H - Killian Dain
Killian Dain competed on a few promotions before WWE signed him in 2016, a few weeks after signing his then-girlfriend Nikki A.S.H. Soon after, the two superstars became part of a stable called SAnity.
In the 2018 Superstar Shake-up, WWE moved SAnity from NXT to SmackDown but left A.S.H on the Black and Gold Brand. However, SAnity's move to the Blue Brand was short-lived. A year later, the group officially disbanded after its members were drafted to different brands due to the 2019 Superstar Shake-up. Dain went back to NXT.
A.S.H was not on NXT when her now-husband returned to the Black and Gold Brand. The 32-year-old moved to SmackDown in November 2018. While Dain's second NXT run was not much of a success, his wife excelled on the main roster. A.S.H joined forces with Alexa Bliss on SmackDown to win the Women's Tag Team Championships twice in 2019 and 2020.
In 2021, Dain and A.S.H's in-ring careers took different paths. WWE released Dain last June to end his five-year run with the company. During the five years, he did not win any championships. A.S.H, on the other hand, has been living much success lately. She adopted a new gimmick, won the Money in the Bank briefcase, and cashed in on Charlotte Flair to capture the RAW Women's Championship.
#4. WWE Women's Tag Team Champion Natalya - Tyson Kidd
Natalya and her husband, Tyson Kidd, are among the most famous couples in WWE. Their lives have been heavily featured on WWE's reality show Total Divas.
Tyson Kidd has only won two titles during his WWE wrestling career, which started in 2009 and ended in 2015. Alongside David Hart Smith, Kidd captured the World Tag Team Championships in 2010. In 2015, he captured his second title, winning the WWE Tag Team Championship alongside Cesaro after defeating The Usos at Fastlane.
Later that same year, Kidd suffered a career-ending injury during a dark match against Samoa Joe, forcing him to retire from in-ring competition. The 41-year-old has never held a singles title in WWE. Meanwhile, his wife, Natalya, continued her wrestling career successfully.
Natalya is a former Divas Champion and SmackDown Women's Champion and is currently one half of the Women's Tag Team Champions alongside Tamina. The Canadian superstar is considered one of the greatest female superstars in WWE history.
The Queen of Harts recently underwent surgery after suffering an ankle injury during a tag team match against Eva Marie and Doudrop on Monday Night RAW.
#3. WWE Superstar Carmella - Corey Graves
WWE Superstar Carmella has been dating commentator Corey Graves for nearly two years. Unlike his commentary career, Graves' time as a WWE wrestler was short with limited success.
The 37-year-old started wrestling on independent promotions 21 years ago. Eleven years later, Graves finally joined WWE in 2011. Before making it to WWE, Graves won several championships. While it seemed that he was heading towards the same in WWE after capturing the NXT Tag Team titles alongside Adrian Neville in 2013, Graves' career took an unexpected turn.
Corey Graves suffered a concussion that put him out of action for a few weeks in late 2013. He returned in January 2014 but suffered a second concussion a few months later. In December of that same year, Graves announced his retirement from in-ring competition due to concussion issues.
Graves' girlfriend Carmella, on the other hand, has had much success over the past few years. She became a main player on SmackDown, winning the SmackDown Women's Championship in 2018. She also made history, becoming the first-ever Ms. Money in the Bank.
Carmella is still one of the top superstars on SmackDown today. The Princess of Staten Island has been chasing her second SmackDown Women's title over the past few weeks. She recently challenged Bianca Belair for the title but came up short.
#2. WWE Superstar Sasha Banks - Sarath Ton
Sasha Banks is one of the top WWE Superstars on the roster today. Her husband Sarath Ton was also a wrestler but has not had as much success as his wife.
Ton kicked off his wrestling career in 2002 and spent ten years performing in different promotions. Ten years later, he had a one-off match on Monday Night RAW under the name Rutherford Hayes.
Ton made his official debut on NXT in 2015 under the name Mikaze. However, his run in WWE was short as he sustained a head injury during a match against The Vaudevillians, which forced him to retire the same year.
Ton won several championships outside of WWE. Nonetheless, his injury prevented him from having the same success in Vince McMahon's company. Following his retirement, Ton became a costume designer. He designs wrestling gear for WWE Superstars.
Unlike her husband, Sasha Banks has had a very successful WWE career so far. She is a six-time Women's Champion, two-time Women's Tag Team Champion, and a former NXT Women's Champion.
Banks recently returned to SmackDown after months of absence. She attacked the SmackDown Women's Champion Bianca Belair last Friday. Things are bound to take an interesting turn from here on forward.
#1. WWE Superstar Charlotte Flair - Andrade
Charlotte Flair is arguably the greatest female wrestler of all time. She is an 11-time WWE Women's Champion and a former Women's Tag Team Champion. Her fiancé, Andrade, is also a successful wrestler. However, his achievements do not match those of his fiancée's.
Andrade wrestled in different promotions starting in 2003 before making it to WWE in 2015. He won many titles before joining WWE and continued to do the same afterward. In WWE, Andrade captured the NXT Championship in 2017. A few months later, he was promoted to the main roster to become the United States Champion in December 2019.
The Mexican superstar held the US Title for five months before losing it to Apollo Crews. He never won any more titles until WWE granted him his release last March. Andrade made his debut on AEW last month but is yet to win any championships.
Meanwhile, Charlotte Flair continues to entertain the WWE Universe on Monday Night RAW. She has been in a heated feud with Rhea Ripley over the past few weeks. Flair defeated Ripley at Money in the Bank to capture the RAW Women's Championship. However, she lost the title to Nikki A.S.H the following night on RAW.
